Technical Bulletin [Return to bulletin list]

Date: 2002-07-20

Description: Houston keeps detecting new clusters.

Affects: Houston software up to and including version 7

Summary: Houston automatically identifies a new cluster, but the changes
are not saved and the cluster hardware is not updated. Houston may then
continue to pop-up windows identifying the cluster, leading to multiple
copies of it in the configuration tool window.

Symptoms: Houston keeps detecting new clusters.

Work-around: After automatic detection, use the "Close" menu option from
the "File" menu of the configuration tool window to close the window and
save the changes to the cluster. DO NOT close the configuration tool window
using the "X" (close) button from the window bar. This is a bug in Houston
and will be corrected with the next release. Delete any spurious clusters
present in the configuration tool window by clicking on their names and
selecting "Delete.

This will be fixed in the next version of Houston.
